My Xanadu

MY XANADU

The title of my blog comes from the name of our cottage - Eno’s Xanadu in Bridgton, Maine, USA. It is a humble abode surrounded by nature’s beauty - with the Moose Pond lake to enjoy during summer , the thrill of Shawnee Peak Ski slopes across during winter, the bubbling Sucker Brook lulling us to sleep in spring time and the vibrant autumn colors Maine is known for in fall.

My dear hubby’s best friend coined the name of our cottage after the famous poem “Xanadu” by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. These two lines below from the poem best describes the place:

“It was a miracle of rare device,
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice!”

So, here in MY XANADU Blog, expect me to share my thoughts and stories about the sunny things in life that provide me warmth and love, as well as the cold realities that sometimes may be hard to bear but I just need to share.

Why the username Mich NanaYanna ?

Well, it’s a combination of my 3 more known nicknames.

Mich - people from my birthplace and my new home call me this…
Nanay- I am known as nanay to most if not all of my UP classmates and friends, McDo barkada and SFC sis/bro…
Yanna - my username since I started using the internet and if you notice, it’s an anagram of NANAY…

Some little FACTS about ME!

1) I was born and raised in Cebu, Philippines (true Cebuana!)
2) My favorite number is 7.
3) I am not a morning person (Hahahahaha!).
4) I migrated to the US in 2000 and live in Massachusetts with my hubby.
5) I have one sister and one brother…I am the eldest of 3.
6) I buy and sell on ebay.com and ebay.ph!
7) I love to travel and take pictures. “Along the hills of difficulties, lies the kingdom of success” - my motto.
9) I am loyal to my friends and enjoy making new ones.
10) I wear mostly jeans, lovely tops, nice pair of shoes and one of my fave bags.
11) I drink (on occasions) but not drive (well, I still don’t have my license!).
12) I went to University of the Philippines Cebu - high school and college.
13) I earned an MBA degree from UMass Lowell and I am currently practicing it by becoming Master Being At-home!
